A History of England (Complete in 12 Volumes)

Complete in 12 volumes.  Illustrated with colour and black and white plates.  Volume uniformly bound in blue buckram cloth with gilt lettering and pale blue reliefs.  Top edges sprayed blue.  Three vols in one slipcase, remainder in individual slipcases.  4tos.  Volumes are neat, clean bright and tight throughout.  The slipcases are very good, showing just a little shelf wear in places A magnificent and handsome set from the Folio Society produced between 1997 and 2002 of classic works on the history of England from the Roman era to the end of the 20th century.   The volumes in the set were selected by the editor on the basis of the importance, influence and likelihood to withstand the test of time, rather than for compatibility.
