First paperback printing.  192pp.  Illustrated light card covers.  12mo.  Covers worn and creased, gently rubbed at edges and a little bowed, shelf worn with reading creases along spine.  Internally pages browned with the occasional dog-eared corner.  A good reading copy, firmly bound and complete. During the second world war, into the shambles of Arnhem went the airborne surgeons.  While the battle raged around them they set up their portable operating theatres and began their work of healing, amputating shattered limbs, removing shrapnel from torn bodies, sewing up gaping wounds.  This is the story of one Arnhem surgeon, Danial Paul, of the 16th Parachute Field Ambulance.
