First edition, thirding printing (in the same year as first publication).  268pp, with monochrome plate frontispiece and further similar  plate illustrations interleafed in text.  Blue cloth-covered boards, with black lettering to spine.  8vo.  Cloth is a little worn, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.  with some marks.  Very slightly forward lean.  Text block edges a little toned and spotted.  There's a small mark on the front free endpaper else internally neat. clean and tight.  In its original illustrated dust jacket, worn and rubbed all over, chipped and cracking on corners and spine ends. A true story of an adventure, of four men sailing on dangerous seas in a small boat, a they pursue one of the largest marine creatures, the five-ton basking shark.
