First edition, first impression.Β  242pp,Β  Blue cloth-covered boards.Β  12mo.Β  Very worn and tatty cloth is rubbed and cracked, heavily faded over the spine and around margins, with a scattering of remarks, scuffed 'Boots Library' label on the upper panel. Text block edges toned and dust soiled.Β  Β Internally a previous owner's name nearly inked on the front free endpaper; some spotting on endpapers, toning on extreme page margins throughout, with a few minor signs of handling.Β  Slight forward lean causing a little loosening. The Unfortunate Fursey is an exquisite, almost comic, semi fantasy work of historical fiction incorporating some bitter commentary on Irish Catholicism.Β  Set in the 10th century, Fursey encounters sorcery, a much-diminished Satan, Vikings galore and witches. We would not usually offer a book in this condition but is a novel worth reading and nowΒ  hard to find, and pricy in its first edition state.Β  This volume, which remains complete and reasonably study may serve as a good reading copy or to fill a gap in a collection until a better copy can be sourced and afforded.Β  No returns on the grounds of condition on this one.
