First edition, first impression.  xiv, [2], 302pp.  Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles and red relief on the spine.   Top text block edge sprayed blue.  Blue endpapers.  Cloth very slightly rubbed at corners and spine ends.  Previous owner's name flamboyantly inked on the front free endpaper else internally neat. clean, bright and tight. In its original dust wrapper, a little bumped on extreme edges, not price clipped, lightly shelf worn. Biography of John Christie, best known as the founder of the Glynbourne Festival Opera House.
