First edition, first impression.Β  62pp, plus a large central section of black and white plate illustrations.Β  Blue cloth-covered boards with silver decoration on upper panel, silver-stamped lettering on the spine.Β  Two-colour maps on endpapers.Β  8vo.Β  Very slightly shelf wear to boards else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.Β  In its original glossy dust wrapper, a little shelf worn and gently bumped on extreme edges, a tad sunned over spine, with a circa 2 inchΒ  square area of loss on rear panel. In 1956 and 1959 the then Duke of Edinburgh made several tours around the world in the Royal Yacht Britannia.Β  He visited many isolated communities and areas and he was able to photograph in these places, or on the long sailings between them, many birds not often seen.
