First edition, first impression.ย  282pp.ย  Grey-green cloth-covered boards with black lettering on the spine.ย  8vo.ย  Cloth heavily worn and faded, especially around edges, marked, rubbed and rounded at corners and ends of a ridged spine, staining on rear panel, with panels softened.ย  Text block edges a little soiled.ย  Internally some faint and occasional spotting else general clean, neat and tight. Eunice Buckley was one of the several pen names of Rose Allantini (1890-1980), a Austrian-British novelist, Theosophist and wife of the composer and occultist Cyril Scott.ย  Her most memorial novel was the 1918 'Despised and Rejected' (under the pen name A T Fitzroy), which was banned during the first world war for sympathetic treatment of pacifism and homosexuality. The rest of her novels are sometimes dismissed as 'Mills and Boon' fodder, but some of them, including this one, deserve more attention.ย  We would not usually offer a book in such condition - it is at best poor - but it is a very hard to find title and this copy will serve well as a reading copy as it tight, internally generally clean and complete.
