First edition, first impression.  592pp, profusely illustrated in full colour.  Black cloth-covered boards, with silver design and lettering front and spine.  Illustrated panoramic endpapers.  Large 4to.  Cloth is just a little brushed, with a hint of fading around spine folds.  Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  A small packet of newspaper clippings relating to Big Ben loosely laid in. A mammoth volume celebrating the history, legacy and context of Big Ben, the iconic clock (Big Ben is actually the name of the bell) in St Stephen's Tower (now known as the Elizabeth Tower) at the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London.  It documents the origins and rich history of Big Ben as well as analysing its cultural impact, political significance and surrounding urban mythology.  It also records the people who made, cared for and operated the bell.  Produced to mark 150 years of Big Ben going bong!
