With contributions from Rt Hon Winston Churchill, Rt Hon Herbert Morrison, Rt Hon Anthony Eden, Rt Hon C R (Clem) Attlee, Rt Hon Beaverbrook, Sir Shenton Thomas and Rt hon Lord Halifax. The Pictorial History of the War was originally issued in weekly parts; this volume, part of a 26 volume series, contains the weekly issues covering the period 12th June 1940 to 6th August 1940. The first article in the volume reproduces Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister's, address to Parliament of 18th June 1940 on the impending struggle facing the nation. viii, 256pp. Copiously illustrated throughout, with 452 black and white reproductions, 14 special drawings and 8 specially drawn maps. Half bound in maroon morocco leather over maroon cloth boards with gilt lettering and decoration to spine. Title page printed in red and black. (Boards are lightly worn, some small indentations along upper edge wit minor loss at head of spine, a little rubbed at edges, more markedly so around spine with some light scuffing, and lightly marked). Pages show signs of having been overly compressed in the past, endpapers a little ridged and marked. 4to.
