470pp. Fourth impression (1948) of 1935 edition. Profusely illustrated with 10 lovely full page drawings and many more in text by Rex Whistler. Decorated cloth-covered boards. Elaborately decorated endpapers. Boards lightly rubbed and a little soiled as are text block edges; spine lightly sunned. Hinges cracked between endpapers front and back but text block remains tight and square. Neat inscription on front pd endpaper, dated 1949.
