First edition.  128pp, plus a central section of black and white plate illustrations.  Black cloth-covered boards with silver lettering on the spine.  8vo.  There's a hint of spotting on the text block edges and a gift inscription on the front free endpaper else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.  In its original, slightly shelf worn dust wrapper, price clipped and a little bumped along extreme edges. Doney traces the back stories of Beatles members John Lennon and Paul McCartney, trying to place them as men of their times, while at the same time distingushing between fact and legend as he evaluates their songs and the complex influences which brought the Beatles to life.
