First edition, first impression. Signed and inscribed on the front free endpaper by Rosemary Rapaport, co-founder of the Purcell School.ย  [ii], 116pp, with many black and white illustrations.ย  Blue textured cloth-covered boards, gilt titles front and spine.ย  8vo.ย  Boards very slightly rounded on corners else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.ย  Laminated dust wrapper slightly shelf worn and a little bumped on extreme edges.ย  Several copies of a flyer regarding the book and its publication loosely laid in. In 1988, the Purcell School celebrated its first 25 years of operation; this history was commissioned to mark that anniversary.ย  The author is a former violin teacher and history teacher at King's in Canterbury and well known for his biography of Paganini.
