First (and likely only) edition.ย 52pp, with a tissue guarded portrait plate frontispiece.ย Green limp cloth-covered boards with blind embossed decorations, white title onlay on front panel. All edges gilt.ย 32pp.ย Covers rubbed and discoloured at edges, worn and a little faded.ย Small bump on lower leading corner affecting covers and pages.ย Internally a suggestion of toning in page margins else neat, clean and tight.
Jenny Lind (1820-1887), the Swedish Nightingale, was a 19th century opera soprano and one of the most highly regarded and internationally popular performers of her era, with Queen Victoria choosing to attend all 16 of her debut performances on the London stage.
