Third edition, revised and enlarged.ย  vi, 398pp.ย  Full leather binding.ย  Folio.ย  Boards heavily worn and rubbed, chipped all over, front panel detached, with some loss around corners and upper edges. Front free endpaper and first true leave detached and creased.ย  Remainder of text block is generally neat and clean barring some mild toning on the title page, minor worm damage on lower edge of rear few pages, with some toning.ย  Previous owner's name (Hannah Pingree Lincoln) inked in a copperplate hand on the front paste down (and blotted onto the free endpaper).ย  Suitable for rebinding. John Pearson was a theologian and scholar, chaplain to George Goring's cavalier forces during the English Civil War and later Chaplain to James II after the restoration.ย  His Exposition of the Creed was first published in 1659 and became one of the most influential works on the Apostles' creed in the Anglican Church.
