The Clerical Guide or Ecclesiastical Directory, Containing a Complete Register of the Dignities and Benefices of the Church of England, with an Exhibition of the Names of Incumbents &c., 1836

A new edition for 1837. [xl], 288pp. Half bound in tan leather over marbled paper-covered boards, gilt-stamped lettering on the spine.  Green endpapers.  8vo.  Boards are heavily worn, rubbed and scuffed all over, with leather chipped and cracked on corners and spine ends.  Text block edges soft and dust darkened.  Internally endpapers and first and last few pages have some staining and warpage, with a little browning throughout but generally clean and neat.  Bookplate on front paste down (illegible) together with a label indicating the volume was once in the collection of Berkeley Divinity School with the date 1854. It is likely that there were three issues of The Clerical Guide between 1817 and 1829, and then this new edition published in 1836.
