Not a first edition, but an early printing.  xiv, 248, [10]pp, plus tissue-guarded colour plate frontispiece and seven further similar colour plate illustrations, line drawings in text. Plum cloth-covered boards with pictorial onlay on upper panel and gilt stamped lettering front and spine.  8vo.  Covers are worn and faded, rubbed and scuffed around rounded corners and spine ends.  Text block edges browning.  Internally a little faint spotting, especially on first and last few pages, a few minor signs of handling and the odd strained gutter but clean, complete, firmly bound, square and eminently readable.  All colour plates as called for present.
