First edition, first impression.  368pp, profusely and richly illustrated, many in full colour.  Red cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on the spine.  4to.  Cloth a little dusty, gently rounded on corners and spine ends.  Traces of dustiness on text block edges.  Internally neat. clean, bright and tight.  In its original shelf worn and edge-toned dust wrapper, a little bumped on extreme edges and a little more markedly at spine ends. A mammoth volume on the history of New York's Metropolitan Opera House told through its audiences, seasons of productions, stars, performers and managers.
