96pp, with rich colour illustrations throughout.  In burgundy cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine.  Signed by Sir Peter de la Billiere, Peter Bottomley MP, then Minister of State for the Armed Forces and Bernard Cribbins(? perhaps the actor and former paratrooper veteran?) on the title page.  Large landscape 8vo.  A few mild marks on cloth on rear panel else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout.   In its original dust wrapper, a little bumped on extreme lower edges, very slightly shelf worn. A lavishly produced volume, with arresting colour plates, which charts the history of the armed services who have 'defended Britain's shores, but also played a role in shaping the world as we know it today".  The book was original sold to raise funds for the Royal Star and Garter Hime for Disabled Sailors, Soldiers and Airmen.
