Myths of China and Japan (Myth and Legend in Literature and Art series)

Undated.  [1923].  xvi, 404pp, with tissue-guarded colour plate frontispiece and numerous further monochrome plate illustrations interleaved in text.  Olive green cloth-covered boards with brown lettering front and spine, central vignette on the upper panel and spine.  Top edge sprayed green. Olive green endpapers.  8vo.  Cloth a little rubbed on extreme corners and spine tips, lower rear corner rounded.  Unsprayed edges a little toned and faintly spotted.  Free endpapers a little toned, and a hint of toning in the margins of the first and last few true leaves else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. The Gresham Publishing Company issued its well-regarded series on Myth and Legend in Literature and Art initially a series of six, then eight volumes in the 1910s.  Further volumes, including this one, were added up to 1930, to make a total of twelve.
